DEFIBRILLATOR FOR SUTTON Many of you will be aware that a new defibrillator has been installed at the Sutton Memorial Hall. It has been gifted to the village by the family of the late Bernard and Gwen Wilkinson, in appreciation of the enjoyment and help their parents received in their 38 years of retirement in the village.
If someone is suspected to have had a heart attack, the first action is to dial 999 and ask for an ambulance. The ambulance service will then dispatch the appropriate response vehicle and give you the code to unlock the green defibrillator cabinet on the wall of the Sutton Memorial Hall. Inside is a small zip case containing the defibrillator machine. The whole case should be taken to the scene of the emergency. The defibrillator should be removed from the case and the start button pressed. There is then a simple set of voice instructions to follow.
A set of simple instructions is attached to this newsletter for people to read so that everyone can familiarize themselves with the working of the machine, should they ever need to use it.
Finally, a defibrillator training course will be held in the small hall of the Sutton Memorial Hall at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday September 19th 2018. Anyone is welcome to come on a first come first served basis. There are 12 places available on this course. Please contact Peter Youngs 01394 411269 to book a place.
ANNUAL JUMBLE SALE for play equipment fund. We would like to make this the most profitable jumble sale todate to help with the fundraising for a new piece of equipment. The large wooden structure which has been on site since 1997 (second hand when we had it) has been well used by children of all ages and well loved by all. It is getting old and in due course does need to be replaced sometime in the future, to replace will cost thousands. Although we are only in July we are starting to collect items of clothing in good condition, bric a brac, toys, books puzzles etc and we are able to store it, so if you have anything you wish to donate please contact Sue, Daphne or Kelly. Thank you.
