Sutton is a village in the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has  All Saints 

It is the largest parish in Suffolk and is bordered by the River Deben to the West, Rendlesham Forest to the East and, to the North, is the Sutton Hoo Estate, the latter being the site of the world famous Anglo Saxon Ship Burial.Church, the Sutton Plough Pub  and the Village Memorial Hall.

A1152 Wilford Bridge Road will be subject to repairs to Wilford Bridge between 11 September and 24 November. For most of the time access and passage across the bridge will be unaffected. However during part of the first week and the last week of the works, there will be lane closures and temporary traffic signals, necessary to allow the safe unloading and retrieval of machinery required for the bridge works. 

SUFFOLK COASTAL DISTRICT COUNCIL is undertaking a review of its local plan and has issued Help Plan the Future of the District, Issues and Options for the Suffolk Coastal Local Plan Review, Consultation 18 August – 30 October.  Within the document Suffolk Coastal are suggesting that a possible 48 houses in Sutton located within the boundary of the chequer field, as well as housing (10) between the existing settlements along the Main Road (Woodbridge Road) on the south side. 

 Public consultation  is an important part of the Local Plan process and throughout the consultation period a series of drop in sessions have been arranged.  These sessions are open to anybody who wishes to find out more about the consultation and one of these sessions is being held at Suffolk Coastal District Council (Deben Room), East Suffolk House, Station Road, Melton on Tuesday 26 September 1600-19.30 hours.  There are other venues available at other times, details on the web page.  To view the document please visit see Issues and Options, Sutton is on page 139.  Alternatively paper copies of the document can be viewed at any library in the district or mobile library. 

Should you wish to make comments on the consultation document, they must be submitted and received no later than 23.45 on Monday 30 October.
