Sutton Heath Football

Sutton Heath Youth Football Club is a local football club running children’s football teams in the South Suffolk Youth League. Originally set up by the army stationed at Rock Barracks we still enjoy good links with the military base and we are proud of our links with the brave men and women serving in Her Majesty’s Forces.

All our teams play matches against other Suffolk based sides in places as diverse as Bury St Edmunds, Hadleigh, Felixstowe, Trimley and Sizewell as well as Ipswich itself. All our children come from the local area including Sutton, Woodbridge, Wickham Market, Hollesley, Orford and Melton. As well as matches, each team will run a weekly coaching session led by F.A. qualified coaches.

Our club has expanded so that we are currently operating out of two bases. Our main home is at the Recreation Ground behind the Village Hall at Hollesley where currently our U18, U16, U10 & U8 teams play. By 2012 we had become too big to run all our teams from one location but the Committee at Sutton Memorial Hall very kindly provided us with space on their ground. So this season our U14 and U12 teams are playing in Sutton too.

We are a very inclusive club and welcome players of all abilities. We currently have teams at a range of age groups and as such have about 100 children on our books. We host an annual tournament in May which attracts about 500 people from all over the county. We also have an annual presentation day at the end of each season to recognise the efforts of all our children.

We are a very welcoming club and if any child is looking to play football in a safe and friendly environment where winning is good but enjoying the game is more important, then we would love to hear from you. To find out more about the club please contact the club secretary at . He will pass details on to the appropriate age group.
